Redesign Halodoc ‘Home’ & ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page Case Study

Background
Overview
As one of the most famous healthcare network platforms, Halodoc is used by users of various ages. There are always room for improvement in every application! Such as for ‘Home’ and ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page. One of the most used pages in Halodoc application.
The role the pages have is very crucial. ‘Home’ page is the most viewed page in Halodoc application. It delivers importants information to direct users to the next features.
‘Toko Kesehatan’ feature is meant to let users buy any healthcare related online. This feature is often used, moreover in the pandemic time.
Goals
Halodoc is a famous healthcare network platform. Halodoc is known for its simplicity and user-friendly interface. Halodoc provides many features for users such as consultation with a doctor, make a doctor appointment, and buy medicines online.
The goal of this project is to identify any usability issues with ‘Home’ and ‘Toko Kesehatan’ current released version and to improve the pages into a better version.
This is a redesign for Halodoc 11.403. version
Proccess
The proccess is based on the Double Diamond Theory. The process include Discover, Define, Develope, and Deliver. This method is chosen because it fits the case study goals and problem.

In discovering the problems, research was done to 3 participants with quantitative and qualitative research method. Quantitative method was done with polling system and survey while qualitative research was done with interview session.
The research gives a result as a User Journey, an Affinity Mapping, and a User Persona.

Define
This step is to summarize all the research results. This is where defining the main problems.
User Insights

Important information in the ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page and ‘Home’ Page should be placed in an eye-reach-zone not at the bottom page.

The Front Categories of ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page should consist the Most Used Categories.

The Category’s Order in ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page should be ordered from its group to make it easier for users to search for the cateogry they want.
Pain Points

The interface of the bottom navigation is not common compared to other application and gives a confusion.

The ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page doesn’t have a proper composition. The other feature like “Beli Dari Toko” is not shown properly. Lack of eye-catching important information like promotions.

The home interface gives too much information in one page with an abstract order of priority.

The Categories in ‘Toko Kesehatan’ Page is arranged in a confusing order.

Some features are placed in a hard-to-find area.
Goals

Make the Bottom Navigation more user friendly by using the common design.

Make a better composition of icons and menus in the Home Page and Toko Kesehatan page.

Make the Home Page Interface easier to read for users with a better delivery of information order.

Make some important features easier to find by placing it an easy-to-find area.
Develop
This step is to develop the solutions from the all the problems mentioned.
Solutions
With all the problems mentioned, here are some solutions to overcome the problems.

The information given is too much with an abstract order of priority

The layout is changed and divided into smaller part based on the most-used features.
Put the most-used features in an eye level reach.
Toko Kesehatan Page
The Toko Kesehatan Page doesn’t look like a page to buy products

The interface is changed into a more shopping-like interface page. The promotion menu should be put at the top of the page as to catch users attention.

The Categories are arranged in a confusing order

The categories are arranged into a better order. From the most used and urgent ones.

Usability Testing
After developing the designs, the designs are made into a prototype and give to the user for the usability testing. At this stage, the designs are being tested either the redesign brings improvement or not and also to seek for flaws from the redesigns.
